Peninsular Gas Utilisation (PGU)
The PGU pipeline network transports natural gas to power plants and large industrial consumers, ensuring a steady supply for electricity generation and industrial processes.
Power Plant
Used to fuel gas turbines for electricity generation and co-generation.
Large Industries
Commonly used as an energy source for highly intensive manufacturing production and used as raw material for other products.
Export
Trans-ASEAN Gas Pipeline.
Residential & Commercial
Used for cooking to quick heating properties and water heating.
Industrial
Commonly used as an energy source for manufacturing production and used as raw material for other products.
Transportion
Refer to Natural Gas for Vehicle (NGV) that being consumed by buses and taxis.
Distribution Line
Natural gas distribution lines deliver gas to commercial, residential, and industrial users and support transportation needs, such as fueling CNG vehicles. This network ensures widespread access to natural gas across Malaysia.
Regasification Terminal
Regasification terminals such as in Melaka and Pengerang convert imported LNG back into gaseous form.
Liquefaction
Liquefaction plants, primarily in Bintulu, Sarawak, cool natural gas to -162°C to convert it into LNG for easier and more economical transportation to global markets.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Export
Malaysia is a major exporter of LNG shipping it to countries worldwide.
Oil and Gas Exploration
Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM) continues to unlock new and interesting exploration areas with promising outcomes. Since 1974, there have been more than 2,000 wells drilled in Malaysia with active penetration at all stratigraphic levels.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)
The gas processing plant in Kerteh, Terengganu, produces liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from natural gas. This LPG is used for domestic cooking, heating, and industrial purposes.
